Our first stop in Austria was Salzburg. Our hotel, The Hotel Hofwirt was situated right at the end of the walking street. Here we found many restaurants and bars to sit and people watch. Upon entering the old city, we found cobblestone streets and history everywhere. The churches were magnificent and it was hard to say which was more beautiful. We also visited the catacombs where you’ll find many early grave sites and tombs. This may seem a strange place to visit but somehow when there you’ll find a sense of beauty and peace there. Suzy and I always enjoy seeing places that are full of history and artifacts. Mozart was born in Salzburg, and the people here are quite proud of him. You can purchase Mozart chocolate bars everywhere and I am not sure what Mozart had to do with chocolate but nevertheless, they are selling quite well. If you’re not into chocolate, you can take Mozart home with you and hang him from the ceiling, you see he comes in a spring figurine version to keep you entertained. Suzy and I found Salzburg to be a pleasant and relaxing spot to visit. The cuisine here is very good and you can easily enjoy yourself. We would certainly come back and visit again.
