Our ship docked early morning and we had just a few hours to enjoy the local scenery. Many of the other passengers opted to take a tour bus to Paris, the downside to that trip was the short time frame available and participants were told up front that photos of the Eiffel Tower would be available only from the tour bus and not from the ground as this would be a “tour bus ride” and the bus would not be making any stops along the way. Our choice to just enjoy the time wandering around the city was a good one. Suzy and I enjoyed the park and the architecture of the buildings along the way. We managed to find the basin where Monet painted “Sunrise” and a few war memorials. We also found out that this city, because of its location, is always windy and has very few days without any heavy winds. We enjoyed the city, the shops and the cafes along the way. It was quite a pleasant little city.
