Suzy and I arrived in Bangkok after our unexpected stay in Moscow. Thailand is a large country full of wonderful places to see and explore. With that said, I decided to stay at a nice hotel in Bangkok until I figured out where to go and how to get there. I elected to stay a few days at PloyKhumThong Boutique Hotel, close to the Bangkok Airport. This turned out to be a wonderful spot to stay, full of greenery, private cabins and a great restaurant. After figuring out where we were, we decided the next move was to see the actual “City of Bangkok” full of ancient Temples and nightlife, so we moved downtown, right in the thick of it. We elected to stay on Khaosan Road at the Khaosan Palace. For those of you who are not familiar, Khaosan Road is what is called; “the backpackers center of the universe”. This place was something to see, shops, restaurants, bars, hawkers, tuk-tuks, peddlers, pimps, scammers and crooks….. They were all there, bombarding you with questions, offers and propositions. Once you worked your way around it became almost a game, avoid the scammers, put up your hand to the peddlers to wave them off, and if a well spoken guy comes up to you and asks “where are you from” just say; “I don’t need a suit” and keep walking….. Suzy and I quickly learned the ropes; we settled in at a bar, ordered cocktails and watched the night action on the street. It was better than a movie, it was real life. The blaring loud music in the street continued until well past 2am, If you were looking to get some sleep, this was not the place. The Gallery has been updated ! Click any photo to enlarge.
